The report after genetic counseling and genetic testing report are issued for every visit and each genetic test. We deliver reports in person or send them to you by regular mail. Alternatively, we can send them to your doctor.
Genetic counseling is the process by which the patients or relatives at risk of an inherited disorder are advised of the consequences and nature of the disorder, the probability of developing it, the options open to them in management, and the risk of recurrence of the disease in offspring and other family members.
The diagnostic evaluation requires a thorough overview of the medical records of the patient and his relatives, and often includes a clinical examination. An extended family tree is made. Based on clinical documentation and patient evaluation, the clinical geneticist decides on the necessity and extent of genetic testing. Additional clinical investigations are often needed to delineate the disease.
Clinical geneticist will explains the nature and cause of the disease, its course and prognosis. Also, the doctor will define the inheritance pattern, the risks for the offspring and other family members and the possibilities for prenatal diagnostics.
You can greatly facilitate our work by sending clinical documentation to our clinic before the consultation (at least 3 days before) and by finding out about your relatives and their possible health issues in advance.
